Beyond its core leadership team, RAAD draws on a wider network of affiliated scholars, policy specialists and practitioners across Africa, Europe and globally — supporting collaborative research, peer review and specialist analysis that bridges grounded knowledge from the Horn of Africa with broader comparative debates.
Regional rivalries, shifting alliances and external competition increasingly shape the East and Horn of Africa. Yet regional actors are not passive: they negotiate, resist and use international engagement to advance their interests.
