Strategic Foresight and Regional Crisis Analysis

Crises are shaped by political choices, changing capabilities and institutional constraints. Their trajectories are neither fixed nor adequately explained by immediate events alone.

Crises are shaped by political choices, changing capabilities and institutional constraints. Their trajectories are neither fixed nor adequately explained by immediate events alone. RAAD develops strategic assessments and scenarios to examine plausible outcomes, emerging risks and policy choices. It distinguishes underlying drivers, warning indicators, triggers and developments capable of shifting a crisis towards escalation, containment or political accommodation. Rather than assigning false precision to uncertainty, the programme identifies the mechanisms shaping different trajectories and the opportunities available to prevent or manage regional crises.
